  2. Getting Help
  3. ---------------------------------------------------------------------

  5. MaxiPlan On-Line Help is designed to give you fast information to get
  6. you started using MaxiPlan. Each Menu has an associated Help Menu
  7. Item which gives a brief explanation of that Menu Item.
  8.  
  9. The Control Window has two menus:  Control and Printer Control.
  10.  
  11. Control Menu has many of the same commands that appear on the
  12. Project Menu.  Please see the Project Menu Help File.
  13.  
  14. Printer Control Menu allows you to access many of the more
  15. frequently used commands for printing found in Preferences.
  16. Any changes will be saved to the Preferences File.  To learn
  17. more about the commands on this Menu see the discussion of 
  18. Preferences in your Amiga Manual.
  19.  
  20. This section of MaxiPlan On-Line Help gives you information useful
  21. for using MaxiPlan in general.  The topics covered include:

  32. any Cell before entering any data into that Cell.

  40. The Active Cell can be moved about the Worksheet by several methods.
  41.  
  42. *  Pointer and Select (left) Mouse Button - Point to any Cell and
  43.    then click on the Cell with the left mouse button to make that Cell
  44.    the Active Cell
  45.  
  46. *  Tab Key - moves the Active Cell to the right one Column
  47.  
  48. *  Return Key - generally moves the Active Cell down on Row unless
  49.    Return Key movement altered under the Options Menu
  50.  
  51. *  Arrow Keys - four arrow keys move Active Cell in designated
  52.    direction
  53.  
  54. *  Shift Arrow - moves Active Cell to the last Cell in the
  55.    direction of the Arrow Key
  56.  
  57. *  Control with Return - moves Active Cell to Column A of the 
  58.    next Row
  59.  
  60. *  F9 with Shift - moves Active Cell to Cell Address A1
  61.  
  62. *  F10 with Shift - moves Active Cell to Cell Address in last
  63.    Row furthest to the right.

  65. *  Wordstar Keys - Control with X moves Active Cell Down
  66.                  - Control with S moves Active Cell Left
  67.                  - Control with D moves Active Cell Right
  68.                  - Control with E moves Active Cell Up

  70. *  Select Menu Item -  The Commands Menu has several Submenu
  71.    Items for relocating the window on the Worksheet and selecting
  72.    a Range and/or moving the Active Cell.

  78. Menu (right) Mouse Button - pulls down Menus and selects Menu Items
  79.  
  80. Select (left) Mouse Button - selects Active Cell, File Names,
  81. Function Names, Named Ranges, Formula Buttons, File and Drawer Icons,
  82. highlights Ranges, activates Scroll Bars, Close Gadget, and Window
  83. Sizing Gadget.

  89. The Cursor is the site of current input in the Cell Contents Display.
  90. It can be moved with Arrow Keys or the Tab Key.

  96. The Function Keys (F1-F10) perform several  commonly used MaxiPlan
  97. functions with one keystroke.  A template is supplied with MaxiPlan
  98. which you can place in the tray above the function keys to provide
  99. a quick reference.

  117. A Range is a collection of Cells.  Generally a Range is selected by
  118. clicking on the top left most Cell and dragging the Pointer to the
  119. bottom right most Cell.  See manual for other methods for selecting
  120. large Ranges.

  126. MaxiPlan 500 has 8 pull down Menus.  Many of the Menu Items have
  127. Submenus listing selections for the Menu Item.  To select a Menu
  128. Item, click the Menu (right) mouse button, pull down the Menu and
  129. move the highlight stripe to Menu Item and then on the Submenu Item,
  130. if a Submenu is present. Release mouse button.

  136. Calculations on the MaxiPlan Worksheet are performed by Formulas 
  137. entered into the Cells.  A Formula always begins with an equal
  138. sign "=" and is followed by Cell References, operators, and possibly
  139. built-in Functions.  Many of the elements of a Formula can be 
  140. inputted by clicking on the Formula Buttons across the top of the
  141. Worksheet Window.

  147. After a Range has been selected, you can name it for future
  148. reference.  The name is specified in the Edit Menu under the Menu
  149. Item Define Name.
